Job description

This engineer will work within a multidisciplinary Agile team to automate the Post-Test Analysis pipeline used for missile defense test and simulation data. Day to day, they will develop Python scripts and reusable libraries that ingest raw system logs, parse messages, extract errors, validate test steps, sequence events, and align telemetry, sensor, target, and trajectory data across time and space.

They will use scientific Python libraries and Jupyter Notebooks to reduce high-dimensional datasets and create repeatable analyst workflows. The engineer will also build visualizations and dashboards that help users inspect timelines, compare ground-truth data against measured results, and understand key system decisions such as acquisition, tracking, and discrimination.

Additional responsibilities include evaluating and integrating analysis tools such as SLAP, automating plots and qualification reports, storing reduced data and performance metrics in SQL or NoSQL databases, and supporting 3D mission-reconstruction visualizations. The engineer will manage assigned Jira features, write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, containerize applications with Docker, demonstrate working software to stakeholders, and contribute to technical documentation and best-practice user guides.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM field
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience in Python
  • Experience with Python-based scientific computing, including Jupyter Notebooks and common data analysis libraries such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and scikit-learn. Experience with MATLAB or C++. Experience with Jupyter Notebooks and visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Dash. Familiarity with Docker, Test-Driven Development, CI/CD pipelines, SQL, or NoSQL databases. Experience supporting missile defense, aerospace, telemetry, simulation, trajectory analysis, formal test events, or system qualification.
