Job description

Join a small team of engineers building custom hardware systems where performance, reliability, and precision matter at every level of the stack. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy owning complex hardware from architecture through production and want to work in an environment where impactful technical decisions are made by engineers, not layers of management. You’ll partner closely with hardware, FPGA, software, infrastructure, and systems engineers to design and deploy high-performance computing platforms used in demanding production environments.Unlike highly specialized roles at large organizations, you’ll have broad ownership across the entire development lifecycle and the opportunity to influence both architectural decisions and long-term technology direction. What You’ll DoArchitect, design, validate, and deliver custom hardware systems and PCBAsOwn products from concept, schematic capture, and component selection through manufacturing and deploymentDevelop high-speed digital systems utilizing technologies such as PCIe, DDR4/DDR5, Ethernet, accelerators, and server-class hardwarePerform signal integrity and power integrity analysis to ensure robust, scalable designsCreate validation strategies and execute hardware bring-up, debugging, and characterizationAnalyze eye diagrams, BERT results, and lab measurements to correlate real-world performance with simulation dataWrite Python-based tools and scripts to support bring-up, validation, and manufacturing activitiesPartner with cross-functional engineering teams to identify and solve complex system-level challengesEvaluate emerging technologies and drive improvements in system performance, scalability, manufacturability, and reliabilityWork directly with manufacturing partners and suppliers to bring products into productionQualificationsBS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field5+ years of industry experience developing production hardwareStrong experience with high-speed digital designExpertise in schematic capture and board-level architectureExperience designing complex multi-layer PCBsStrong understanding of signal integrity and power integrity fundamentalsPython scripting experienceExcellent debugging and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsFPGA familiarityPost-silicon bring-up experienceExperience with oscilloscopes, TDRs, BERTs, and high-speed validation toolsExperience in datacenter, networking, HPC, AI/ML, or consumer electronics environmentsExperience with VHDL, Verilog, C, or C++Personal hardware projects or demonstrated passion for engineering outside of workWhy Engineers Are InterestedEnd-to-end ownership of real hardware productsSmall, highly technical engineering teamSignificant influence over architecture and design decisionsFast-moving, low-bureaucracy environmentExposure to challenging performance and scale problemsOpportunity to work alongside exceptional engineers across multiple disciplinesCompensation designed to reward technical contribution and long-term impactCompensation & BenefitsThis position offers a highly competitive compensation package designed to reward technical impact, ownership, and long-term contribution.Significant annual discretionary bonus tied to individual and firm performanceMeaningful long-term upside through a performance-driven compensation structureComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with company contributionsGenerous paid time off and holidaysDaily meals and fully stocked office amenitiesAccess to state-of-the-art hardware labs and engineering resourcesRelocation assistance available
