We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our ever-evolving Team Kerfuffle on VAP Global Ecommerce platform and help us unleash the potential of every business.As a Senior Software Engineer, your skills will be utilized to keep commerce moving. You’ll plan and manage application development and client delivery activities that range from small, simple software applications to components of large, complex software applications.In this role you will contribute to a complex monolithic application that powers payment processing and value-added services for merchants. At that same time as we modernize our platforms, we will look for opportunities to design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices.What you’ll own:Design, develop, and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery associated with a high-volume, high-availability platformCollaborate with other internal teams (Product, Platform, Merchant Services and Support) to convert business requirements into technical solutionsUse Agile software techniques such as pair programming and test-driven development to maximize productivity and qualityDeploy new features into production with zero platform downtime and no impact to end customers who are currently processingBuild domain expertise in e-commerce payments and apply engineering expertise to develop new product featuresWork in a “team focused” culture, where strong collaboration and communication are criticalWhat you’ll bring:A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.7+ years of relevant job experience in Java Software Engineering, including internships.Exceptional database & schema design and SQL and Java programming skillsAbility to quickly grasp high-level business goals, derive requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutionsAbility to fluidly change context and priorities based on changing business needsExperience with financial systems, payments infrastructure, or high-volume transactional systems that require precision and auditabilityAbility to Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven applications using Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, and related technologies, ensuring secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise solutionsundefinedIt’s a bonus if you haveExperience with Microservices architecture, globally distributed services, and 24/7 supportExperience with design and implementation of monitoring and responsive, self-healing resilient immutable platformsKnowledge of scalability levers in high volume, low latency transactional systemsExperience working in AWS, OpenShift Platform Experience with Ansible, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Harness, Snyk, SonarQ, Cucumber, KarateExperience with Splunk, Sysdig, OpsGenie, Open Telemetry, Instaclustr, Prometheus, JBehave, JGiven, Xmatters, ServiceNowDevelopment experience with a unit testing framework (JUnit and experience employing TDD preferred)Pair programming experience.
