Embedded Systems Engineer in Tupelo

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science. \n

• 5+ years of relevant experience. \n

• Experience with embedded systems prototyping, startup, debug, and testing. \n

• Project management and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are desired. \n

• Knowledge of USB, TCP/IP, and communication busses like CAN and I²C, is required. \n

• Experience with MPLab IDE and/or the Cortex M4 platform is a plus. \n

• Experience in low-power design methods desired. \n

• Experience in either hardware design and/or Windows application development in C or .NET is a definite plus. \n

Howard Medical, a division of Howard Technology Solution, is seeking to fill the position of an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer in our Research and Development group. This is a full time, permanent position.

Principal activities include:

• Develop firmware for microcontroller-based electronic devices, including analog and digital I/O, motor controllers, board-to-board communications, network communications, and USB. \n

• Work within multidisciplinary team to develop software design goals. \n

• Generate project resource requirements and development schedule. \n

• Create documentation and specifications. \n

• Select operating systems, programming , and development tools. \n

• Assist in selection of microcontrollers and other board level hardware. \n

• Write test plans and direct activities of technicians to validate firmware. \n

• Work closely with hardware designers to ensure design goals are met. \n

• Coordinate efforts with development team working on associated Windows-based software. \n
