  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, application architectures, database schemas, and system integration plans.
  • Support data standardization, migration, and implementation activities across research and development.
  • Design, build, optimize, and troubleshoot PostgreSQL databases and SQL queries.
  • Use Python to automate data engineering, migration, reconciliation, and data-quality control activities.
  • Support system integrations and data-sharing workflows between applications.
  • Identify and resolve data-quality, database, and integration issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation that supports traceability, data governance, and regulated operations.
  • Work with data owners and technical teams to support metadata management, master data management, and data lineage.
  • Help apply data-quality frameworks, automated testing, and reconciliation controls to improve the reliability of research data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant technical experience, or a master’s degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience configuring, deploying, selecting, or implementing applications.
  • Experience designing application architecture, technical specifications, database schemas, and system integrations.
  • Strong PostgreSQL and SQL skills, including query development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, and data-quality activities.
  • Experience working in Unix or Linux environments.
  • Experience working with laboratory, clinical, scientific, manufacturing, or other regulated data.
  • Familiarity with LIMS platforms, such as LabWare, LabKey, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of data governance, master data management, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Experience with data-quality frameworks, automated testing, and data reconciliation controls.
  • Familiarity with regulated environments such as GxP, GLP, GMP, or CDC-regulated research.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
