Web Developer

The Web Developer will be involved in the specification, development, deployment and maintenance of our B2C websites and other digital platforms. Working with the Digital Marketing and E-Commerce team, the ideal candidate will be involved in establishing the technical and functional requirements for new projects and updating our websites to meet functional needs while maintaining standards for cross-platform compatibility across a range of web browsers and devices. This is a new position, so He or she must work to help design and establish best practices in terms of managing the conversion of marketing designs into technical specifications and subsequent design structure, programming, testing, deployment and maintenance. This role will be an advocate for standards compliant best practices at all levels of development.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for technical design, development and maintenance for Brand specific websites, systems integration, and web based applications from definition through implementation.
• Owns the development lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout the project.
• Develops, documents, and manages a release management process.
• Maintains a consistent application architecture.
• Performs code reviews and manages outside technical resources.
• Participate and contribute to the planning process for new projects.
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and how they align with brand marketing and e-commerce efforts.

• Education - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years web programming /development experience.

• Expert level JavaScript language fundamentals
• Strong CSS and HTML skills
• Significant experience developing web applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX and toolkits like jQuery.
• Experience with technologies such as JavaScriptMVC, backbone.js, etc. strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in at least one strongly typed object-oriented programming language. (C/C++, Java)
• PHP experience a must
• Magento Theme Creation a plus
• Wordpress experience a plus
• Ecommerce experience a plus
• Subversion or experience with version control systems such as GIT
