Job description

Join the innovative Grid Automation Technology team! We are seeking an experienced embedded DSP Developer to join our dynamic team in creating the building blocks to enable digital transformation in the power grid, focused on signal digitization, protection & control infrastructure devices!\n \n The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of embedded systems architecture with DSP, software and hardware architectures, and protection application knowledge within the Transmission & Distribution power-system domain. You will be responsible for executing a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of embedded systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. This process proceeds from concept to production to operation, based on strategies for the power industry.\n \n As part of a multi-developer firmware team the major responsibilities will include architecture, analysis, design of embedded solutions for Square/UR product line. The Senior Staff Developer - Embedded SW Development will report to the Senior Embedded SW Manager.\n \n

Benefits & conditions

n \nEssential Responsibilities:\n \n \nIn this role, you will:\n \n \n

  • Analyze complex challenging requirements to architect effective DSP design solutions making up the overall system architecture including hardware, embedded DSP software, software tools, V&V and test rigs.\n
  • Provide forward-looking strategies for platforms and technology development, technical risks elimination and insertion, in order to make the platform reliable and the product competitive.\n
  • Drive platform reuse strategies. Making data-driven decisions using defined trade-off criteria.\n
  • Facilitate, drive discussions and steer cross-functional councils to solve issues, drive decisions, gain consensus, and align on technical risk mitigation strategies.\n
  • Communicate complex messages and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view. Influence peers to take action and negotiate with external partners and vendors.\n
  • Utilize in-depth understanding of key technology challenges to accomplish own work and provide direction to cross-functional teams.\n
