Enterprise Applications Manager

The Applications Manager is a hands-on technical leader responsible for the administration, support, enhancement, and strategic oversight of the organization’s enterprise applications environment. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and advanced database expertise, with a primary focus on SQL development, reporting, analytics, integrations, and application support. The ideal candidate possesses deep SQL expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to balance hands-on technical execution with team leadership and operational planning., * Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team responsible for application support, reporting, GIS, CAD, and data analytics.

• Establish priorities, assign workload, and monitor team performance to ensure service levels and business objectives are met.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to team members while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused environment.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex application and data-related issues.
• Coordinate resources, timelines, and deliverables across ongoing support and enhancement initiatives.

Application & Database Management

• Serve as the technical lead for internally developed enterprise applications built on the Microsoft .NET platform.
• Perform hands-on SQL development, database analysis, query optimization, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Support application functionality through database administration, data validation, and issue resolution.
• Manage application maintenance activities, upgrades, performance tuning, and system enhancements.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.

Reporting & Analytics

• Develop, maintain, and optimize enterprise reporting solutions using SQL and Power BI.
• Support data analytics initiatives by ensuring the availability, accuracy, and integrity of business data.
• Design and maintain data structures, views, stored procedures, and reporting datasets.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on reporting and operational metrics.

Integrations & Technical Support

• Support and troubleshoot XML- and API-based integrations across multiple enterprise systems.
• Monitor and maintain data interfaces to ensure reliable data flow between applications.
• Partner with technical and business teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• Assist with the design and implementation of new functionality and system enhancements.

Strategic & Operational Responsibilities

• Balance day-to-day operational support with longer-term application strategy and roadmap planning.
• Evaluate system performance, identify risks, and recommend technology improvements.
• Support governance, documentation, security, and change management processes.
• Participate in project planning and provide light project management oversight for application-related initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications and database environments.
• 5+ years of advanced SQL development and database management experience.
• Experience leading technical teams or serving in a technical leadership capacity.
• Strong experience with analytics, reporting, and business intelligence solutions.
• Experience supporting API and XML-based system integrations.
