Principal Software Engineer

Description of Role/Responsibilities/Project: Beacon Hill Technologies is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our enterprise hospitality client. This role combines deep expertise in frontend technologies, backend services, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and agentic AI architectures to build scalable, high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will serve as a senior technical leader, driving architectural decisions, mentoring engineering teams, advancing developer experience, and championing the adoption of AI-powered development practices. Experience building enterprise-scale solutions in cloud environments, integrating AI/ML capabilities, and supporting high-transaction digital platforms is highly desired.

10+ years of full-stack software engineering experience, including frontend and backend development, technical leadership, architecture ownership, and cross-team influence.

Expertise in modern frontend technologies, including React, Next.js, micro frontends, SPAs, component-driven design, frontend performance optimization, Design Systems, and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), including headless/headful implementations and integrations.

Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade agentic AI solutions, including autonomous agents, multi-agent frameworks, reasoning workflows, and RAG architectures from proof of concept through enterprise-scale deployment.

Strong backend and platform engineering experience with Node.js, Fastify, GraphQL, Java services, Redis, MongoDB, API performance optimization, AWS, Kubernetes, containerization, and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.

Deep understanding of DevSecOps, SOX compliance, and security best practices, with the ability to clearly communicate technical strategy, architectural decisions, and trade-offs to both technical and business stakeholders.

Desired Skills:

Experience within the hospitality industry.

Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and LLM-driven workflows, with a strong interest in advancing AI adoption across engineering teams.

Proven experience integrating AI/ML models into applications, from initial proof of concept through production deployment.

Background supporting high-volume digital environments, including ecommerce, travel, or other transaction-intensive platforms.

Experience leading large-scale Developer Experience (DevEx) initiatives to improve engineering productivity, workflows, and tooling.
