Job description

A large healthcare provider in Philadelphia is seeking an Enterprise Imaging Architect to support its growing Enterprise Imaging environment across the health system. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and optimizing enterprise imaging solutions across radiology, cardiology, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), and other imaging environments.

This position is primarily architecture and project-focused, with approximately 75% of the role dedicated to solution design, implementations, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements and approximately 25% focused on advanced technical support and issue resolution.

The Enterprise Imaging Architect will evaluate new technologies and requests, determine how solutions should be architected within the existing imaging ecosystem, and help take initiatives from investigation and technical design through implementation and delivery. They will need to understand not only individual imaging applications, but how PACS, DICOM routing, advanced visualization, AI solutions, clinical applications, infrastructure, and other imaging technologies connect and function together across an enterprise environment.

The team is currently supporting Enterprise Imaging across Jefferson Health, including the continued integration of LVHN’s cardiology environment and expansion into areas such as POCUS.

Key Responsibilities Architect and design enterprise imaging solutions across radiology, cardiology, POCUS, advanced visualization, PACS, DICOM routing, AI-enabled imaging technologies, and other clinical imaging environments. Evaluate new applications and technologies and determine how they should be architected, integrated, implemented, and supported Lead the technical design and delivery of new implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and system replacements Understand the end-to-end imaging ecosystem, including DICOM workflows, routing, integrations, servers, infrastructure, and downstream/upstream systems Partner with operational teams and technical resources to investigate requirements, design solutions, and deliver enterprise imaging projects Support consolidation and standardization of imaging technology across the enterprise Evaluate and integrate emerging AI-enabled imaging technologies

Provide architecture and technical guidance for initiatives such as

Enterprise imaging and cardiology expansion POCUS implementation and integration PowerScribe-related initiatives Sectra platform replacement/modernization initiatives Advanced 3D imaging platform replacements Enterprise DICOM consolidation and routing Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point and last line of defense for complex imaging issues that cannot be resolved by day-to-day operational support teams Troubleshoot complex issues involving multiple interconnected applications or infrastructure components Provide technical leadership and architectural recommendations as new imaging needs and technologies emerge

Requirements

  • Strong Enterprise Imaging architecture experience across multiple imaging technologies and clinical areas
  • Broad understanding of how PACS, DICOM routing, imaging archives/VNA, advanced visualization, cardiology, radiology, POCUS, AI solutions, and other imaging technologies integrate and function together
  • Experience with new implementations, system replacements, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements
  • Strong understanding of DICOM workflows, routing, interoperability, and enterprise imaging architecture
  • Experience evaluating new technologies and determining how they should be architected, integrated, and supported within an existing enterprise environment
  • Ability to serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex, cross-system imaging issues
  • Sectra experience preferred, but PACS-only backgrounds will not be sufficient
  • Multi-hospital Enterprise Imaging experience
  • Imaging AI integration experience
