About the company

Insight Global is seeking an AWS Java Engineer to join one of our largest financial services clients sitting in Jersey City. This individual will support the modernization of an existing client protection application, helping migrate and rebuild the platform from an on-prem Java/DB2 environment into AWS. They will first need to understand how the existing system operates, including its current functionality and business requirements, and then help design and build the new cloud-based platform. This is a highly hands-on development role working primarily with Java and AWS technologies, including ECS Fargate, Lambda, Aurora, Airflow, and Snowflake. The engineer will also be involved in AWS infrastructure deployment, configuration, data migration, testing, and resiliency throughout the SDLC. They will work directly with users to understand functional requirements and translate those needs into technical solutions. Given the scope of the modernization effort, this person needs to be a senior, independent developer who can take ownership of their work, solve complex technical problems, and drive implementation with minimal oversight.
