Database Administrator

We are seeking a Developer Database Administrator (Dev DBA) to work closely with software development teams to deliver efficient, scalable, and reliable database solutions. This role focuses on query tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and database performance optimization across SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms. Responsibilities include reviewing database changes, supporting application performance initiatives, enforcing development standards, and contributing to successful database deployments., Database Development & Performance

• Tune and optimize SQL Server and PostgreSQL queries
• Analyze execution plans and troubleshoot performance issues
• Design, test, and maintain effective indexing strategies
• Review and evaluate schema changes, database designs, and data models
• Develop and support stored procedures, functions, views, and other database objects
• Monitor and improve ORM and application database access performance

Developer Partnership

• Work directly with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle
• Provide guidance on SQL coding standards and database best practices
• Assist with troubleshooting database-related application issues
• Enforce database design standards, data integrity, and business rules
• Participate in code and design reviews

Deployment & Operations

• Support CI/CD processes and database deployments
• Review, test, and validate database changes before production release

• Strong analytical skills
• Display aptitude for problem solving
• Strong desire to continue as a database administrator
• Demonstrate willingness to stay current in field standards and practice

• SQL Server and PostgreSQL

Performance Tuning

• Query optimization and execution plan analysis
• Index design, usage analysis, and maintenance
• Blocking, waits, and concurrency troubleshooting
• Statistics management and cardinality/selectivity concepts
• SARGability and efficient query design

Data Integration & Reporting

• ETL tools such as SSIS or equivalent
• Reporting platforms such as Sisense, Power BI, or Tableau

Scripting & Automation

Experience with one or more of the following:

• Bash/Shell scripting
• Python
• PowerShell

Education/Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in related field and relevant work experience a plus.

Environmental Conditions

Indoor climate-controlled environment. Moderate to quiet noise level
