Data Scientist

Maintain and optimize existing analysis workflow pipelines.

Collect, clean, aggregate, and manage datasets from various laboratory and genomic sources.

Collaborate with internal bioinformatics and data science teams to identify computational bottlenecks in existing workflows and assist in process efficiency where needed.

Perform light scripting and programming work to support pipeline integration and data processing.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biological Sciences, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field.

• 2+ years of meaningful work experience in data science, bioinformatics, or genomic data analysis.

• Proficiency in programming and scripting with Python, R, C/C++, SQL, Shell/Bash, or other languages.

• Hands-on experience working in a Linux environment building, running, and maintaining Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) bioinformatics analysis pipelines.

• Knowledge of common bioinformatics tools, sequence alignment algorithms, and public genomic databases.

• Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization of large, complex biological datasets.

• Understanding of basic biological concepts and molecular biology fundamentals.

• Strong communication skills and ability to interact regularly with organizational system hardware, software, infrastructure, and IT personnel.
