Software Development Engineer (Go/Golang)

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and maintain backend services and applications in a cloud-based environment. This role focuses on internal software development, with a strong emphasis on building scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend services using Go (Golang). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services, deploying applications to AWS production environments, and leveraging AI-powered tools to improve software development productivity. Candidates with strong backend engineering experience in Java, C#, or similar languages will also be considered if they can quickly ramp up and develop in Go. This is an opportunity to contribute to internal engineering initiatives in a collaborative development environment.

Candidates should expect two rounds of virtual interviews: * Technical Coding Interview: Assessment of programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and backend development fundamentals.

• System Design and Behavioral Interview: Evaluation of system design knowledge, engineering judgment, collaboration, and communication skills., * Must be local with DL copy

• Recent or recent second project must be at the current location, The ideal candidate is a backend-focused software engineer with at least 3 years of experience building REST APIs and production services, hands-on AWS deployment experience, and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools. Strong Go/Golang experience is highly desirable, but candidates with solid Java or C# backgrounds who can ramp up quickly in Go will also be considered. Important: Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to work onsite in McLean, Virginia, three days per week., * 3+ years of experience developing backend services, including RESTful APIs, in a professional software engineering environment.

• Hands-on experience with Go (Golang) preferred; strong experience in Java, C#, or another backend programming language is acceptable for candidates who can quickly learn and transition to Go.
• Experience building and deploying services to AWS in a production environment.
• Practical experience using AI-powered development tools to support software development activities.
• Strong understanding of backend development principles, API design, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining production-quality code.
