We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to support the ongoing evolution of a modern cloud-based data platform and analytics capability. Working closely with architecture, engineering, application support and delivery teams, you will provide leadership across data architecture, enterprise data warehousing, business intelligence and reporting initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping a growing Microsoft cloud data ecosystem, driving best practice across data modelling, governance, integration and analytics while supporting a business-wide self-service data strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide architectural leadership across enterprise data, analytics and reporting programmes.
  • Design and define end-to-end data architectures covering ingestion, storage, transformation and consumption layers.
  • Support the continued adoption and optimisation of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric technologies.
  • Design, build and provide governance for Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Data Hub and reporting solutions.
  • Define logical and physical data models, metadata standards and integration patterns.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to ensure data requirements are translated into scalable solutions.
  • Maintain data traceability throughout design, development, testing and deployment lifecycles.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of common data models, data dictionaries and enterprise data assets.
  • Support data governance, data quality and metadata management initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on best practices, standards and architectural patterns across data and analytics platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience operating in a senior Data Architect or BI Data Architect capacity.
  • Expert-level knowledge of dimensional modelling (logical and physical) utilising Kimball methodology.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, metadata management, data quality and master data management principles.
  • Experience designing and implementing end-to-end data architectures within Azure environments, including data ingestion, storage, transformation and consumption.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI and DAX.
  • Proven background delivering enterprise-scale data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
  • Strong SQL development, query optimisation and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience designing and maintaining semantic models, analytical datasets and self-service reporting solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and/or PySpark for data processing and analytics.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Knowledge of scripting and infrastructure-as-code technologies including YAML, PowerShell and Terraform.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure and governed data architecture solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience working within cloud-first and highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership, architectural governance and best practice guidance across data and analytics platforms. #4839818 - Daniel
