You will leverage Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android Views to deliver reliable, high-performing mobile experiences. Your work will help ensure that applications are intuitive and accessible to users with diverse needs and abilities. You will play a key role in implementing accessibility features, improving navigation, and optimising interactions with assistive technologies such as TalkBack. Working at the intersection of mobile engineering and accessibility, you will contribute to quality assurance and compliance with recognised accessibility standards. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through technical expertise while contributing to long-term international projects in a fully remote environment.

  • Ensure application stability, performance, maintainability, and high code quality.
  • Implement and optimise accessibility features to deliver inclusive mobile experiences.
  • Ensure compatibility with TalkBack and leverage Android Accessibility APIs and Compose Semantics.
  • Configure and improve content descriptions, accessibility roles, and states to support assistive technologies.
  • Manage accessibility focus and navigation to provide a consistent and intuitive user experience.
  • Support scalable text, accessible font sizes, and appropriately sized touch targets.
  • Conduct accessibility testing, particularly with TalkBack, to identify and resolve usability issues.
  • Validate accessibility implementations against relevant standards and support compliance with WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 guidelines.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in native Android development.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Kotlin.
  • Commercial experience with Jetpack Compose and/or Android Views.
  • Extensive hands-on experience implementing accessibility features in native Android applications.
  • Strong practical experience using TalkBack.
  • Experience with Android Accessibility APIs and/or Compose Semantics.
  • Proven experience implementing content descriptions, accessibility roles and states, and accessibility focus management.
  • Experience supporting scalable text, accessible font sizes, optimised touch targets, and accessible navigation.
  • Practical experience conducting accessibility testing, particularly with TalkBack.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, ideally including WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2.
  • Good English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international team.

Benefits:

  • Fully remote work model, offering flexibility in your work environment.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Opportunity to work in a multinational environment on international projects.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage.
  • Long-term business-to-business (B2B) contract.
  • Stable pipeline of projects, providing opportunities for continued collaboration and professional development.
