Job description

Our Data Scientists and AI/ML Engineers build AI solutions. You make them usable for everyone at EDRI. As a Full-Stack AI Engineer in our newly established AI UNIT within E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI), a special unit built and run like a startup, you will build the internal platform that makes AI solutions accessible to hundreds of colleagues across EDRI. You will work across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and AI integration, taking full ownership from the initial architecture to reliable operation in production. Where this is heading: every colleague builds their own applications with AI coding tools, while login, backend, security, and hosting are set up automatically - and you design it. You report to our Head of AI Strategy., * Build our internal AI platform from scratch and develop it into one central place for all AI solutions

  • Design a modular architecture that allows new AI solutions to be integrated and launched quickly
  • Develop intuitive frontends, including conversational, generative, and streaming interfaces
  • Build backend services and APIs, integrating models and services developed by our AI/ML Engineers
  • Implement authentication, role management, access controls, and secure system integrations - security by design
  • Ensure scalability and performance for hundreds of users and millions of requests through load testing, caching, and continuous optimization
  • Own the platform’s reliability, security, monitoring, latency, and cost in production
  • Evaluate emerging AI models, AI tooling, and agentic systems and integrate solutions that add value
  • Develop a secure self-service environment, within clear guardrails, that enables colleagues to create their own AI-powered applications

Requirements

You are a full-stack engineer with practical AI/ML experience who enjoys building products from the ground up. You combine strong technical expertise with a high level of ownership and can turn an ambitious vision into a secure, scalable, and user-friendly platform. Must have

  • Proven experience building and operating web applications in production from frontend to infrastructure
  • Strong skills in TypeScript and React or similar frontend technologies
  • Backend development experience with Node.js and/or Python
  • Experience scaling and securing applications, including performance optimization, caching, load testing, and authentication
  • Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or machine learning models into applications
  • Experience with cloud platforms, containers, and CI/CD - we run on Azure, AWS or GCP experience transfers
  • Strong ownership mindset and the ability to work effectively without detailed specifications

Nice to have

  • Streaming or real-time interfaces
  • Single sign-on and identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID
  • Internal platforms or developer tools
  • You have built a product from scratch

Benefits & conditions

  • People take centre stage: Become part of a dynamic, ambitious and agile team that develops solutions for the eMobility market and be part of our EDRI events

  • The freedom you need: We offer you hybrid working with flexible working hours
