Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust backend services using Node.js and Express.js.
• Build responsive and interactive user interfaces using React and associated libraries (e.g., Redux, Context API).
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for efficient data exchange between frontend and backend.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code across the full stack.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX mockups into functional web pages.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and performance issues across the application.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology choices.
• Stay current with emerging web development trends and best practices.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with a remote team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in full-stack web development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and Node.js.
• Extensive experience with the React library and its ecosystem.
• Experience with frontend build tools such as Webpack or Babel.
• Solid understanding of backend frameworks and database technologies (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha) is a plus.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and deployment strategies is beneficial.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote work.
• Experience working in agile methodologies.
• Prior experience with clients or projects related to the Eastern Cape region is advantageous.
