Job description

As renewable energy reshapes the global power system, batteries are taking center stage. Making them safe, reliable, and bankable at scale is a defining challenge of the energy transition. At TWAICE, our software turns battery data into insights - so decisions are made with confidence, not guesswork.

We’re accelerating the transition into a new energy era and we’re looking for those who want to move fast with us.

As a Working Student Battery & Data Analytics (m/f/d), you’ll work hands-on alongside experienced data and engineering professionals, right at the intersection of data and real-world impact. You’ll help evaluate and improve the performance and safety of battery energy storage systems used around the globe - all while getting real exposure to live operational data and the technology powering our platform.

Working hours are flexible (especially around exam periods). Ideally, you’re available around 20 hours per week and able to come into our central Munich HQ on a regular basis. Your daily business will involve

Bringing new projects onto our platform

  • Connecting data from operational battery storage sites to the TWAICE cloud
  • Building digital twins of BESS in our data model
  • Running data quality checks so the data our analyses rely on is solid

Analyzing real-world battery systems on demand

  • Making sense of power and data flows in battery energy storage systems
  • Running big-data analyses, using AI tools and techniques, to evaluate the performance and safety of BESS around the globe

Shaping our analytics

  • Contributing to the development of TWAICE’s algorithms and data pipelines
  • If you’re interested, joining customer meetings to see how your analyses make a difference

Requirements

  • Studying engineering, physics, data science, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of batteries and a passion for renewables
  • Confident using Python to clean, transform, and analyze data
  • Curious, proactive, and hands-on when solving problems
  • Bonus: experience with BESS, Databricks, SQL, or AWS

About the company

Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. We know great people don’t always match every line of a job ad, and we care more about your curiosity and drive than a perfect checklist. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and look forward to hearing from you. What we offer

  • Real impact on the energy transition, with your work used on battery storage systems worldwide
  • Hands-on work with live data from real battery systems, not toy datasets
  • Responsibility from day one and a steep learning curve
  • Learning from experienced data scientists and engineers
  • An international team in a fast-growing climate tech scale-up
  • Flexible hours that fit around your exams, plus a hybrid setup
  • Central Munich office with views of the Alps and free coffee
  • Wellpass membership
