Job description

Location: Spain

Working model: Remote-first

Contract: Initial 12 months + Extensions

Project: Long-term Data Platform transformation

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a large-scale Data Platform transformation within a European company in the travel technology sector.

Following significant growth, the organisation is modernising its data ecosystem and building a new Azure-based platform to consolidate data currently distributed across legacy systems, cloud applications and third-party platforms.

You will join the Data Engineering team responsible for designing, building and migrating data pipelines into the new environment.

The role

You will be responsible for:

Designing and developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
Building data transformations using Python, PySpark and SQL
Developing solutions within Azure Databricks
Migrating and redesigning existing data pipelines
Working with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architectures
Implementing data quality, monitoring and testing processes
Optimising pipelines for performance and scalability
Supporting CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
Working closely with Data Architects, Analysts and other engineering teams

What we’re looking for

Strong professional experience as a Data Engineer
Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks
Advanced SQL
Good understanding of modern data architectures
Experience working within complex data environments

Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, data platform migrations or large-scale datasets would be particularly valuable.
