Software Developer (Skill Bridge)

Seeking 1-2 Developers to support a small, highly technical Proof of Concept (POC) / Rapid Prototyping team within Delta’s Operations Control Center (OCC). This team builds fast, production-leaning prototypes to validate business ideas before capital funding and full IT intake. The role will augment a two-person senior engineering team and help increase throughput of incoming POCs.

Primary Objectives

Support rapid development of end-to-end POCs (design * build * deploy). Assist with backend development, data access, and data pipelines. Enable prototypes that are as close to production-grade as possible, within governance guardrails. Help scale POC output without creating “shadow IT.”

Backend development, data access, and data pipelines Python (primary backend language) Java (secondary backend language) API development (RESTful services) Experience designing and implementing end-to-end solutions Strong SQL skills Ability to write queries Understand data sources and pull data independently Comfort working with data to support analytics and prototypes Some exposure to NoSQL is helpful: DynamoDB Document stores Data Engineering mindset is a strong plus (ETL, pipelines, preparing data for use, not just analysis)
