Design Engineer in Mundelein

Seeking an innovative and results-driven Design Engineer to partner with engineering team to develop and launch new products and improve existing products. This hands-on role oversees systems throughout the entire product lifecycle-transforming conceptual designs into production-ready equipment, solving complex technical challenges, and ensuring all assemblies comply with stringent quality, marketing, and industry standards., n \n

• Product Development & Launch: Design, validate, and launch new OEM-grade equipment while continuously evaluating mature product lines for design optimization, technology upgrades, and cost reduction. \n

• CAD Modeling & Technical Documentation: Generate and maintain detailed 3D solid models, 2D fabrication drawings of electro-mechanical assemblies, structured Bills of Materials (BOMs), and shop floor routings using engineering change systems. \n

• Plant Floor & Field Support: Serve as a core technical resource by assisting production teams with assembly troubleshooting, process implementation, and supporting service technicians with field diagnostics. \n

• Compliance & Sourcing: Coordinate with Standards Engineers and Quality Assurance to verify compliance with safety and industry standards, while collaborating with Purchasing to source components that meet precise engineering specifications. \n

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Provide engineering support to Sales and Customer Service teams to evaluate custom requests and resolve technical inquiries. \n

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical discipline). \n

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or OEM environment. \n

• Sheet Metal Expertise: Practical, hands-on knowledge of sheet metal design, forming, and fabrication constraints. \n

• CAD Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in 3D solid modeling software (PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or CATIA). \n

• Core Competencies: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing setting. \n, * Experience with electrical wiring schematics, power distribution, control systems, and embedded electronic hardware/software. \n

• Background in the design, testing, or troubleshooting of closed-loop refrigeration systems. \n

• Working knowledge of heat transfer, complex airflow systems, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). \n
