Senior Full Stack Engineer -- Backend Focus

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and taking ownership from investigation through resolution. This is a backend-focused role building and improving production applications, APIs, and cloud services., * 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full stack development. \n

• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and API development. \n

• A backend-first engineering background and the ability to work across the full stack. \n

• Experience with Angular and/or React. \n

• Experience with AWS, especially Lambda and RDS. \n

• Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and database performance tuning. \n

• Hands-on experience with performance testing, test automation, and unit testing. \n

• A problem-solving mindset: able to diagnose issues, make sound tradeoffs, and balance immediate fixes with long-term solutions. \n

• The ability to understand, evaluate, and improve code produced with AI-assisted tools. \n

• Strong communication skills and a track record of taking work through to completion. \n, * Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Python, or Spark SQL. \n

• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, infrastructure as code, or GitLab CI/CD. \n

• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Fargate, S3, or EMR. \n

• AWS certification, such as Solutions Architect or Developer Associate. \n

• Experience using generative AI tools across software development workflows. \n

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot. \n

• Investigate production and performance issues, implement appropriate immediate mitigations, and follow through with permanent solutions. \n

• Build and optimize REST APIs and services for reliability, performance, and scalability. \n

• Work with AWS, including Lambda and RDS, to develop and operate cloud-based applications. \n

• Analyze database performance, optimize queries, and contribute to database tuning. \n

• Build and maintain frontend features using Angular and/or React. \n

• Develop and improve unit tests, automated tests, and performance testing practices. \n

• Use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully: understand generated code, assess its quality, and tune or optimize it as needed. \n

• Identify technical risks, simplify code and infrastructure, and improve maintainability. \n

• Collaborate with product, data, compliance, and engineering teams; participate in code reviews and share knowledge. \n
