Job description

We are seeking experienced Data Engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure for our clients across multiple locations. You will develop reliable data pipelines and platforms that make data accessible, accurate, and secure, and work closely with data analysts, architects, and client stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from databases, APIs, files, and legacy systems
  • Build and manage data warehouses, data lakes, and related data models
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries and performance-tune data workloads
  • Implement data quality checks, validation, monitoring, and alerting
  • Automate workflows and orchestrate jobs using scheduling tools and CI/CD practices
  • Manage and optimize cloud-based data platforms and storage solutions
  • Ensure data handling meets security requirements and applicable government standards
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, architects, and client stakeholders
  • Document data architectures, pipelines, schemas, and operational procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience supporting government clients (federal, state, or local agencies)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or Java or Scala
  • Hands-on experience building data pipelines with tools such as Apache Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or similar
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data lake architectures
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services
  • Familiarity with secure data handling and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, CJIS, HIPAA)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently on-site or hybrid at assigned locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and containerization (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, Talend, or Azure Data Factory
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP Data Engineer, Databricks, Snowflake)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance or pass a background check
