Sr. Andoid Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer (Android) to join the XM Experience Squad within Connected Living, building and enhancing customer-facing mobile experiences for the Xfinity App. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing native Android applications using Kotlin and Java, modern Android architecture, API integration, and scalable mobile engineering practices. This role requires technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on experience with Spec-Driven Development (SDD). Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development practices. Lead technical solution design and implementation for customer-facing mobile features. Develop features for device upgrades and trade-ins, mobile plan management, line and device management, billing and payments, onboarding and activation, international services, push notifications, and customer engagement. Integrate RESTful APIs and platform services in collaboration with backend engineering teams. Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design reviews. Promote engineering best practices, automated testing, CI/CD, and performance optimization. Mentor engineers and contribute to technical initiatives. Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Architecture, and Platform teams to deliver high-quality mobile experiences. Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of professional Android development experience. Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java. Deep understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, Android Architecture Components, and modern Android development practices. Experience developing large-scale, consumer-facing mobile applications. Strong knowledge of MVVM, Clean Architecture, Dependency Injection, Coroutines, and Flow. Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs and managing complex client-server interactions. Hands-on experience with Spec-Driven Development (SDD), using detailed specifications, acceptance criteria, API contracts, and architecture designs to guide implementation and delivery. Experience with Git-based development workflows. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and mobile performance optimization skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Skills Experience with Jetpack Compose and Android Jetpack Libraries. Automated unit, integration, and UI testing. Feature flag frameworks and staged rollouts. Mobile analytics, observability, and experimentation platforms. Agile/Scrum development experience. Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives. Knowledge of GraphQL and experience consuming GraphQL APIs.
