Job description

This role focuses on the assembly, integration, and testing of autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) used in maritime and defense applications. You will initially support critical project deadlines by performing industrial paint and finishing work on the production line, then transition into the mechanical and systems integration aspects of the role. Working closely with production, engineering, and development teams, you will help deliver fully functional ASVs that meet rigorous Department of Defense standards while contributing to a rapidly evolving, innovative technology environment. Responsibilities

  • Assemble large sub-assemblies and final assemblies for autonomous surface vessels, ensuring all mechanical and electronic components fit and function correctly.
  • Perform industrial paint application tasks, including surface preparation, masking, priming, painting, and finishing for vehicles, vessels, trailers, or heavy equipment as part of early project phases.
  • Integrate and configure electronic and mechanical systems, including wiring harnesses, power distribution, and control systems, to create fully functional ASVs.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical systems, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Interpret and work from schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications to guide assembly, integration, and testing activities.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively for assembly, start-up, and system integration tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and development teams to ensure seamless integration of maritime systems and components.
  • Support system configuration and start-up activities, including verifying proper operation of autonomous, robotic, and sensor technologies when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to report progress, escalate issues, and propose solutions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Adapt to frequently changing priorities and requirements, taking proactive steps to clarify ambiguous instructions and seek answers when needed.
  • Participate in process improvements and contribute feedback to help refine assembly, integration, and testing procedures as the product line evolves.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards and shop practices.
  • Lift and move components and assemblies weighing 50 pounds or more as required for production and integration activities.
  • Support project schedules by working assigned shifts and additional hours or Saturdays as needed to meet critical deadlines., You will join a cutting-edge organization that is revolutionizing defense autonomy at sea by developing state-of-the-art unmanned surface platforms that enhance maritime operations and security. The environment combines the energy and agility of an urban, modern start-up with the stability of serving both commercial and Department of Defense customers. You will work in a positive, team-oriented culture that values collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous learning. As the company continues to grow and expand its product lines, you will have opportunities to increase your responsibilities, gain exposure to advanced technologies, and potentially move into longer-term or permanent roles. This is an ideal setting for someone who thrives in a dynamic, ever-changing environment and wants to contribute directly to impactful, real-world solutions. Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled assembly shop and corporate headquarters setting, providing a comfortable and professional workspace. There are three openings on a first shift schedule, typically running from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with additional hours and some Saturdays as needed to support project deadlines; some of this additional time may be voluntary, while at times it may be required. The environment offers a cutting-edge, urban, modern start-up feel centered around a breakthrough product that supports both commercial and Department of Defense customers. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and autonomous systems using standard hand tools, power tools, and test equipment in a collaborative, dynamic atmosphere. The culture is very friendly, driven, and team-oriented, encouraging open communication, problem-solving, and shared success as the company scales and introduces new versions of its products.
