Traveling Technician

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Traveling Technician to install and support systems at customer sites. This is a hands-on lead role involving installation, basic wiring, equipment alignment, troubleshooting, and system testing. You’ll work from blueprints and schematics while leading others on site to ensure quality and safety.

5+ years of hands on installation experience Experience supporting quick-turn installations with aggressive deadlines Willingness to install IT hardware such as PCs, servers, UPS systems, and scanners Experience assembling and installing industrial equipment using hand and power tools Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, and layout plans Basic low-voltage controls wiring experience Experience working alongside skilled trades such as electricians, millwrights, and riggers Ability to lead or direct an installation crew Experience transitioning complex equipment or automated systems into full operation Willingness to travel extensively and remain onsite for 2 to 4 weeks at a time Flexibility to work different shifts based on project schedules Strong customer-facing communication and coordination skills Associate degree or vocational training in millwright applications, industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or a related field Experience installing robotics, automated material-handling, conveyor, or warehouse systems AutoCAD experience, particularly reviewing drawings and creating redline markups Experience working with system design, field modifications, and material requirements Experience developing installation manuals, test plans, or lab-testing procedures Familiarity with Microsoft Project Current passport or willingness to obtain one
