Job description

As a Data Intelligence Platform Product Lead for JD World Headquarters located in Moline, IL , you will be:

  • Own the product roadmap for a geospatial data platform that ingests satellite, aerial, and drone imagery, 3D terrain, hydrology, soils, and weather data, and fuses it with proprietary machine-generated ground truth.
  • Evaluate and manage a portfolio of commercial and government imagery/data vendors - running competitive bake-offs, and continuously improving the cost/quality tradeoff as the remote-sensing and sensor market evolves (e.g., new spectral bands, radar, hyperspectral, space-borne LiDAR).
  • Lead migration of teams currently running their own bespoke pipelines onto the shared platform - balancing platform reliability guarantees with the pace of onboarding new consumers.
  • Partner with engineering, data science, and remote-sensing specialists to translate platform capabilities into services that both internal builders and downstream product teams can consume with production-grade reliability.
  • Manage dependencies with adjacent data platforms (e.g., a machine-data/records platform and a farm-record/analytics service) whose roadmaps depend on this platform’s outputs, and vice versa.
  • Define and track platform adoption, reliability, and cost metrics; represent the platform in cross-functional planning with the product teams it powers.
  • Develop the long-term vision for the platform as a shared utility used in both experimentation/R&D contexts and live production products., The terms of the applicable benefit plans, and all company actions administering or interpreting these plans, continue to control. Deere & Company reserves the right to suspend, amend, modify, or terminate the Plan(s) in any manner at any time, including the right to modify or eliminate any cost-sharing between the company and participants. Changes, which can be made at any time, are made by action of the company’s board of directors, or to the extent authorized by resolution of its board of directors, or by the Deere & Company Compensation Committee. In the event of a conflict between the language of the official Plan Documents and this document, the language of the official Plan Documents will control.

Requirements

  • Significant product management experience, including platform or infrastructure product management (not only feature/app-level PM experience).
  • Demonstrated experience managing external data or technology vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and vendor performance management.
  • Working fluency in geospatial or remote-sensing concepts (satellite/aerial imagery, terrain models, weather data integration) sufficient to make roadmap and vendor tradeoff decisions - deep technical specialization is not required, but credibility with technical specialists is.
  • Track record of driving migration/consolidation of fragmented internal systems onto a shared platform, including stakeholder alignment and change management.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills - this role sits at the intersection of multiple dependent teams and must manage roadmap interlocks without direct authority over those teams.
  • Experience defining and operating against platform reliability/SLA-style commitments rather than one-off project delivery., * Experience in agriculture, construction, or another physical/outdoor-industry technology context.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data standards and tooling (e.g., hexagonal spatial indexing systems, raster/vector pipelines).
  • Experience supporting AI/agentic products that consume platform data via APIs or MCP-style interfaces.
  • Background partnering with data science or remote-sensing engineering teams.
