Infrastructure Engineer

• Work on infrastructure improvements, upgrades and deployments, with approximately 70% of the role focused on projects.
• Replace infrastructure and migrate virtual environments supporting more than 100 servers as part of data centre modernisation.
• Refresh legacy HP networking equipment with Cisco technologies and deploy Cisco Meraki infrastructure across multiple sites.
• Modernise Windows Server environments, implement server clusters and work with Azure, VMware, Hyper-V and other virtualisation platforms.
• Design and implement networking, Wi-Fi and infrastructure for new offices and operational facilities.
• Support the introduction of a standardised communications platform across European locations.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, maintain infrastructure reliability and collaborate with colleagues across the IT function.

• Strong experience in a genuine 3rd Line Support or Infrastructure Engineering position.
• Good knowledge of Windows Server, Windows desktop environments, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V or Nutanix.
• Networking knowledge covering switches, LAN, WAN and wireless infrastructure.
• Experience supporting business-critical IT infrastructure, with strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A full driving licence, access to a car and residence within approximately one hours driving distance of the Malton site.
• Experience with Cisco, Meraki or HP networking, enterprise backup solutions such as Veeam or Rubrik, infrastructure monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, or technologies including Barracuda, Ivanti, CyberArk, SIEM or Cylance would be beneficial.
• A broad infrastructure background and deeper expertise in a few technical areas; experience with every technology listed is not required.

We are recruiting for an established international manufacturing organisation investing in the modernisation of its IT infrastructure across multiple UK and European sites. Youll join our established infrastructure and operations team, supporting a large, complex, multi-site IT environment in a technically varied role with opportunities to make a meaningful impact. The position is predominantly on-site in Malton, North Yorkshire. Our on-call rota is supported by a first-line service desk; escalations are relatively infrequent and most can be resolved remotely.
