Backend Engineer

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design and build dependable, scalable backend services and APIs for a software platform. Partner with frontend, design and product colleagues on fast-moving challenges that must hold up at scale. Suited to an engineer who writes clean, readable code and enjoys performance work.

Design and build scalable backend services and APIs for a real estate software platform. Develop clean, maintainable Java code on AWS, collaborate with frontend, design, and product teams, and solve performance and scaling challenges. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, debugging ability, data structures and algorithms knowledge, startup experience, and comfort using AI-assisted coding tools., Solid command of data structures and algorithms.

• Track record of debugging, problem solving and removing performance bottlenecks.

• Hands-on backend experience with Java on AWS.

• Experience working at a fast-paced, high-growth startup.

• Willingness to work alongside intelligence-assisted coding tools in everyday engineering.

• Strong work ethic and the ability to contribute quickly.

• Located in a U.S. time zone (Pacific, Mountain, Central or Eastern).

Bonus points

• Experience writing concurrent code for multi-core servers.

• Self-taught engineers are welcome.
