Senior PowerBuilder Developer

The client is seeking an expert-level Senior PowerBuilder Developer to serve as the lead developer for mission-critical PowerBuilder applications. The selected candidate will develop, enhance, maintain, and support existing applications built using the PowerBuilder Foundation Classes (PFC) framework and Oracle database while supporting the agency’s modernization initiatives. The candidate must be capable of working independently with a large, mature codebase, requiring minimal onboarding while maintaining production stability. Responsibilities: Lead the development, maintenance, and production support of PowerBuilder applications. Design, develop, test, and implement application enhancements and fixes using PowerBuilder, PowerScript, DataWindows, and PFC. Extend and customize PFC ancestor objects and services. Develop and maintain Oracle database components, including PL/SQL stored procedures, packages, and triggers. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across application and database layers. Analyze business requirements and translate them into application enhancements. Document application architecture, business rules, code structure, and deployment procedures. Support application modernization by sharing business rules, data, and integration knowledge with modernization teams. Maintain production stability throughout the modernization process. Transfer knowledge to designated State staff., Copy of valid New York State Driver’s License. Proof of work authorization (USC/GC). Education details, including degree and year of passing.
