Software Engineer Java / React

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Software Engineer to join a high performing engineering team focused on building scalable customer facing products and services. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, deployment, and operation of modern software solutions while working closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for delivering high quality software, enhancing system reliability, and supporting technical initiatives that drive business value. The ideal candidate combines strong backend and frontend engineering expertise with a passion for clean code, system ownership, and continuous improvement., * Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using Java and React.

• Write clean, scalable, and reusable code following engineering best practices.
• Refactor and improve existing applications, services, and frameworks.
• Ensure application quality through automated testing and continuous integration practices.
• Maintain data security, integrity, and quality standards.
• Own services end to end, including monitoring, deployment, and production support.
• Define and monitor application metrics and respond proactively to performance issues.
• Participate in incident management activities, root cause analyses, and post mortems.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and challenge technical design decisions when needed.
• Evaluate and implement scalable software solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to prioritize and deliver technical initiatives.
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase engineering efficiency.
• Support continuous delivery practices and experimentation frameworks.

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong hands on experience with Java.
• Strong hands on experience with React.
• Experience building scalable software applications in production environments.
• Experience with automated testing methodologies and quality engineering practices.
• Understanding of system ownership, monitoring, observability, and production operations.
• Experience with incident management and root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of software architecture and systems design principles.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Comfortable participating in an on call rotation.
