Backend Developer (Node.js / Database Specialist)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust relational database solutions using PostgreSQL.
• Design and maintain database schemas, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and high performance.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and database operations.
• Create and maintain views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Analyze and troubleshoot data integrity and database-related issues.
• Develop REST APIs using Node.js, Express.js, and TypeScript.
• Build and maintain integrations between backend applications, APIs, and databases.
• Develop and maintain automated unit tests using tools such as Jest.
• Monitor and improve database performance through query optimization and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective database and backend solutions.
• Participate in Agile methodologies and ceremonies, working within environments such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
• Work with Git and collaborative development workflows to ensure efficient and maintainable code delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Database Developer.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining relational database schemas.
• Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Experience analyzing and troubleshooting data integrity issues.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript.
• Experience building REST APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Experience writing automated unit tests, preferably with Jest.
• Solid experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Basic knowledge of backend application development and API/database integrations.
• Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficient English, both written and spoken.

• Experience with Azure Database Services.
