Job description

Join a highly technical engineering team responsible for designing and evolving large-scale network infrastructure supporting critical technology environments. In this role, you’ll work across data center networking, security, cloud connectivity, SDN, and network automation while helping drive new technologies from proof of concept through production adoption.

You’ll have the opportunity to solve complex networking challenges, influence architecture decisions, automate infrastructure delivery, and serve as a technical mentor to other engineers.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and deliver highly available data center, network security, cloud connectivity, SDN, and automation solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and vendor solutions through technical assessments and proofs of concept.
  • Design and support complex multi-data-center and multi-tenant network architectures.
  • Engineer underlay and overlay architectures using technologies such as BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, and VRF.
  • Develop and manage advanced routing policies, including complex BGP route manipulation.
  • Support Internet connectivity, public IP management, peering, and DDoS protection.
  • Automate network provisioning and configuration using Python, Ansible, Jinja, APIs, YAML, JSON, and related tools.
  • Partner with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to drive adoption of new network capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot complex network performance, routing, availability, and connectivity issues.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting complex enterprise or data center networks.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting multi-data-center and/or multi-tenant environments.
  • Strong expertise with BGP and dynamic routing, including complex routing policies and route manipulation.
  • Experience designing highly available underlay and overlay networks, including MPLS, EVPN, and VXLAN.
  • Experience with SDN technologies such as SD-WAN, NFV, and cloud connectivity/peering.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VRFs, OSPF, BGP, IPsec, MLAG/vPC, STP, Anycast, SSL/TLS, and related technologies.
  • Experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code concepts using tools such as Python, Ansible, Jinja, GitLab, NetBox, and vendor APIs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, military experience, and professional experience.

Experience that would be great to have :

  • Large-scale Layer 2/Layer 3 data center network engineering.
  • Cisco IOS-XE/NX-OS and Arista EOS.
  • EVPN/VXLAN-based data center fabrics.
  • Complex BGP routing and traffic-engineering policies.
  • VMwarenetworking and infrastructure technologies.
  • PCI DSS environments.
  • Internet peering and DDoS protection.
  • Network automation, configuration templating, and API-driven infrastructure.
