Software Engineer - Principal AI Engineer (Remote)

This remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere or onsite at Juno Beach, FL or St. Paul, MN, partnering cross-functionally with engineering, product, and executive teams., Define and own the organization’s enterprise AI architecture strategy

• Design, build, and deploy scalable AI-powered applications and distributed systems
• Lead high-impact, complex AI transformation projects from conception through execution
• Remain hands-on with production-level code, ensuring best-in-class software delivery
• Collaborate with engineering, product, research, and executive stakeholders to achieve strategic goals
• Establish and implement AI governance frameworks, security standards, and ethical AI practices
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend strategic investments
• Mentor senior engineers and cultivate future technical leaders
• Guide teams on architectural decisions involving cloud platforms, AI services, and data ecosystems
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices
• Lead technical design reviews and influence enterprise-wide engineering standards

15+ years of software engineering experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Expert-level Python development and backend engineering
• Proven experience designing scalable distributed systems
• Strong background in AI/ML technologies and modern software architecture
• Deep experience with cloud-native applications (AWS or GCP)
• Proficiency in infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• API and microservices design expertise
• Frontend development with Vue.js (preferred), React, or Angular
• Strong DevOps skills: GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation
• Experience with generative AI technologies and AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot)
