Job description
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for subscription platforms, strategy, discovery, requirements, design, development, launch, and post-release optimization, across purchase, upgrade, billing, dunning, and cancellation workflows.
- Translate business goals and end-user needs into product strategy, roadmap, and prioritized epics, features, and user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
- Define subscription lifecycle capabilities across domain-driven microservices , partnering with engineering to specify API contracts, JSON payload schemas, and event-driven integrations between front-end and back-end services.
- Design scalable billing and payment models supporting direct-bill customers and multiple payment methods, including payment-retry/dunning logic, proration, and entitlement management.
- Lead a data-driven experimentation program, defining hypotheses, designing A/B tests, and partnering with data science on sizing and significance, to optimize signup funnels, trial-to-paid conversion, and retention.
- Define canonical metrics (KPIs/OKRs) and build analytics and observability dashboards (Mixpanel, Power BI, New Relic) to measure funnel performance, latency, throughput, error rates, and subscription growth, reconciling definitions across product, marketing, and finance.
- Partner with UX/UI design to define user journeys, workflows, paywalls, and customer experiences, validated through in-person user research and usability testing.
- Integrate third-party and Dealer Services Platform (DSP), defining data contracts and reconciliation logic across services and asset types.
- Drive backend-driven UI / configuration-driven capabilities that let business teams deploy changes without a full release cycle.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog using impact, confidence, and effort against business outcomes, sequencing work into now/next/later horizons.
- Lead cross-functional delivery across engineering, UX, billing, DSP integrations, finance, legal/compliance, and regional business teams to ship high-quality releases, and facilitate Agile, Design Thinking, and Lean ceremonies (refinement, iteration planning, demos, retrospectives).
- Own go-to-market and phased rollout, pilot deployments, blast-radius-controlled cutovers, and expansion to additional customer groups and asset types, with production validation and support post-Go-Live.
- Apply AI/ML capabilities to product workflows with appropriate governance (field-level validation, conflict checks, and human-in-the-loop review).
- Monitor the competitive landscape and market trends to position the product and recommend best-in-class solutions.
Skills / Knowledge required:
- Product Owner / Product Manager experience owning subscription products end-to-end.
- Deep subscription lifecycle and billing knowledge: trial, conversion, billing cycles, dunning/payment retries, proration, cancellation, and entitlements.
- Payments platform and integration experience (e.g., Stripe); multiple payment methods and direct-bill models.
- Technical fluency to partner with engineering on APIs, data contracts, event-driven workflows, and microservices architectures; ability to reason about system behavior and trade-offs.
- Experimentation and analytics: A/B testing, funnel analysis, and opportunity sizing; proficiency with Mixpanel, Power BI/Tableau, Google Analytics, and SQL.
- Product/system observability using New Relic (latency, throughput, error rates) to monitor health and reliability.
- Cloud and architecture familiarity: AWS, Azure, or GCP; microservices and API-based integrations.
- AI/ML-enabled product features with governance and guardrails.
- Agile/SAFe delivery and tooling: Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Azure DevOps, Trello.
- Design collaboration (Figma) and facilitation of Design Thinking workshops, user research, and usability testing.
- Translating business requirements into functional specifications, PRDs, and actionable backlogs.
- Data instrumentation and canonical metric definition; KPIs/OKRs; reconciliation across data sources.
- Stakeholder management across executives, engineering, design, finance, and legal/compliance.
- Competitive analysis and market research for product positioning and strategy.
