Senior Manager, Private Cloud Operations

The Senior Manager, Private Cloud Operations will lead a global team responsible for delivering and supporting private cloud and data center services. This role oversees Nutanix and VMware environments, Edge and Data Center Compute, networking, storage, and backup/CyberVault, while also supporting M&A and integration discovery activities. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong people leadership, infrastructure expertise, and strategic planning to ensure a resilient, scalable, and cost-effective private cloud environment., * Lead and develop a 13-person global team across the U.S., Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, and Europe. * Oversee private cloud operations across Nutanix, compute, storage, backup, networking, and edge infrastructure. * Support four primary data centers and approximately 150 remote edge compute sites. * Lead capacity planning, infrastructure lifecycle management, hardware refreshes, and cloud repatriation strategy. * Manage approximately $5M-$7M in capital budget for infrastructure and equipment investments. * Develop and present business cases for infrastructure improvements and technology investments. * Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors and technology partners. * Ensure infrastructure resiliency, disaster recovery, redundancy, monitoring, and operational standards. * Lead multiple complex infrastructure initiatives across global locations. * Partner with internal teams and M&A/integration groups on infrastructure discovery and planning. * Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency across the private cloud environment. * Lead and collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones, including early-morning coordination, while maintaining an in-office presence Monday through Wednesday in the Houston area. * Communicate technical strategy, risks, and recommendations to technical and executive stakeholders.

• 7-10+ years of IT infrastructure experience. * 5+ years of people management experience leading technical teams. * 5+ years of data center, private cloud, infrastructure operations, or hardware lifecycle experience. * Proven experience managing and supporting Nutanix environments within a private cloud or data center setting. * Strong technical understanding of servers, compute, storage, backup, networking, and private cloud environments. * Experience managing global or cross-time-zone teams. * Experience with infrastructure capacity planning and lifecycle management. * Strong vendor management experience. * Experience managing budgets and developing business cases for technology investments. * Ability to manage multiple complex technical initiatives simultaneously. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders. * Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills. * Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Management, Computer Information Systems, or a related field. * VMware experience, particularly supporting or transitioning VMware environments. * Enterprise storage experience with technologies such as HPE or Dell/EMC. * Data center management experience. * Experience supporting 10+ data center or infrastructure locations. * Experience with SAN/NAS storage. * Cisco networking and Fibre Channel experience. * Experience with infrastructure monitoring, metrics, and dashboards. * M&A infrastructure discovery or integration experience. * Cloud repatriation strategy experience. * Experience managing large-scale edge compute environments.
