Job description

You work at the interface between software and powertrain engineering. Your focus is on developing, simulating, and validating the interaction between control functions, the engine, transmission, and the vehicle. If you are passionate about understanding how powertrain systems work and enjoy combining mechanical engineering expertise with modern vehicle software, this role offers you the opportunity to help shape the next generation of our Powersports powertrain systems.

Develop functional software for the control of combustion engines, intelligent transmissions and future hybrid powertrain systems

Model and validate powertrain functions in virtual environments using Matlab/Simulink

Analyze and verify software behavior on simulation platforms, HIL systems, test benches and vehicles

Ensure that transmission, engine and powertrain functions perform as intended under real-world operating conditions

Contribute to the development of future control concepts for engines, transmissions and hybrid systems

Support the design of physical models and control strategies for powertrain applications

Collaborate closely with software developers, calibration engineers and system engineers throughout the development process

Contribute to software development processes with respect to ASPICE and ISO 26262

Requirements

Completed degree (FH/University) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a comparable field

Strong interest in powertrain systems and a genuine curiosity for understanding how transmissions, combustion engines and hybrid drives operate

Understanding of vehicle dynamics, drivetrain systems, control engineering or physical system behavior

Experience with Matlab/Simulink, simulation environments or test bench validation is an advantage
