Job description

You’ll work with cloud resources, networking, automation, and monitoring tools to resolve technical issues and improve day-to-day operations. The role involves both planned infrastructure work and troubleshooting when something goes wrong. You should be comfortable investigating problems, documenting changes, and working with other technical teams to find practical solutions.

We’re interested in someone who understands how cloud services fit together and takes care when making changes that could affect live systems.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Configure, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure based on application and business requirements.
  • Manage cloud resources such as virtual machines, storage, networking, and access permissions.
  • Monitor system availability, resource usage, and performance to identify potential problems.
  • Investigate infrastructure failures, service interruptions, and application deployment issues.
  • Support the deployment and maintenance of applications hosted in cloud environments.
  • Review cloud configurations and access controls to identify security risks and areas for improvement.
  • Use scripts and automation to reduce repetitive infrastructure tasks.
  • Assist with backup procedures, recovery planning, and routine infrastructure maintenance.
  • Work with developers and IT colleagues to resolve networking, configuration, and deployment problems.
  • Review resource consumption and identify opportunities to manage cloud costs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, operational procedures, and system changes.
  • Follow established change-management procedures and communicate risks before making changes to production environments., You’ll be expected to keep infrastructure documentation current, report technical problems promptly, and test changes before they affect production systems. When an issue cannot be resolved immediately, you should explain the impact, document what has been investigated, and communicate the next steps.

The role also involves reviewing existing processes and recommending improvements when they can make infrastructure easier to maintain, more reliable, or more secure.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a practical understanding of cloud infrastructure and a methodical approach to technical problem-solving., * Experience working with at least one major cloud platform, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • An understanding of system monitoring, troubleshooting, and infrastructure security.
  • The ability to investigate technical issues and document the steps taken to resolve them.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail when managing configurations and system changes.
  • Clear communication skills when working with technical colleagues and other stakeholders.
