Job description
Your new company
You’ll be joining an established organisation within the energy sector, working as part of the IT function supporting its London office. You’ll operate in a fast-paced environment where technology plays a critical role in supporting day-to-day trading activities and business operations.
Your new role
As a Trading Application Support Analyst, you’ll act as a key IT point of contact for the London office, providing hands-on 1st and 2nd-line desktop and application support. You’ll support Windows devices, Microsoft 365, Excel and business-critical trading applications, taking ownership of incidents through to resolution. This will include troubleshooting application errors, access issues, connectivity problems, data discrepancies and interrupted workflows, as well as escalating more complex issues to specialist teams and third-party suppliers. You’ll also support user access through Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, contribute to hardware refreshes and system rollouts, maintain support documentation and participate in the on-call rota.
The role is London-based with four days per week on-site. The rate is £250 per day Inside IR35 with a move to a permanent salary.
What you’ll need to succeed You’ll have previous experience working within a 1st/2nd-line, desktop or application support environment, with strong troubleshooting skills and the confidence to take ownership of technical issues from initial diagnosis through to resolution. You’ll ideally have experience across:
- Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
- Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
- Excel troubleshooting, including add-ins and data connections
- Networking fundamentals, including connectivity and DNS
- Incident, request and change management within an ITIL environment
- Troubleshooting business-critical applications and user workflows
Previous experience supporting trading, energy or financial applications would be highly beneficial. Exposure to FIS Aligne, market-data feeds, RTD links or similar trading technologies would also be advantageous, but isn’t essential. You’ll need to be a confident communicator who can work effectively with users, senior stakeholders, technical teams and external suppliers while remaining composed in a fast-paced environment.
What you’ll get in return
You’ll have the opportunity to join a business-critical technology environment where you can build on your existing IT support experience while developing greater exposure to application support and trading technology. You’ll work closely with trading users and specialist technical teams, gaining hands-on exposure to business-critical applications and workflows while taking genuine ownership of the London support environment.
