Job description

Do you enjoy turning a sequence of operations into a living, breathing system? Can you guide a field crew, collaborate with engineers, and still dive deep into a tricky BACnet integration? If yes, let’s talk.

What You’ll Tackle

  • End-to-end DDC deployment: install, program, and commission controllers, sensors, actuators, and network gear for commercial/industrial HVAC.
  • System performance assurance: test, verify, and troubleshoot to achieve optimal functionality and uptime.
  • Controls design partnership: work with engineering and PM to craft control strategies and sequences of operation.
  • Team leadership: supervise technicians performing installs, repairs, and modernization work on DDC systems.
  • Upskilling the team: conduct training sessions and provide day-to-day technical mentorship.
  • Reliability and efficiency: perform preventive maintenance to maximize system life and energy performance.
  • Advanced problem solving: diagnose and resolve complex DDC/HVAC issues in the field.
  • Documentation discipline: maintain accurate records for configurations, revisions, and updates.
  • Continuous improvement: keep pace with new platforms, protocols, and best practices in HVAC controls.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year as an HVAC controls technician focused on DDC.
  • Solid knowledge of HVAC systems, controls hardware, and field devices.
  • Proficiency programming/configuring DDC platforms such as Niagara 4/AX, Johnson, Distech, and Honeywell.
  • Experience integrating DDC with BMS and other automation platforms.
  • Fluency with BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks communication standards.
  • Ability to read control schematics, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills and a structured approach to resolving issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to supervise and guide technicians.
  • Strong organization and time management in a fast-moving project environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interaction.
  • Preferred: Niagara 4 and other HVAC/DDC programming certifications.

Why This Role

You’ll have a direct impact on energy efficiency and occupant comfort while shaping how complex buildings perform-today and over their lifecycle.
