Job description

We’re looking for a senior engineer to own escalations and project work, and to help us level up how we operate. That means leading Azure and Microsoft 365 projects start to finish and building the standards, SOPs, and documentation that keep our environments consistent. You’ll also act as the escalation point for the team. If you like building things the right way and then writing down how you did it, this is the job.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and run Azure projects: server-to-cloud migrations, Azure VMs, Azure Files, networking/VPN, backup and DR
  • Design and enforce standard baselines across client tenants for M365, Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access, and Defender
  • Write and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and client documentation in IT Glue
  • Own Level 3/4 escalations and root cause analysis, and mentor the rest of the team
  • Manage hybrid AD/Entra environments, including identity sync, GPO-to-Intune transitions, and cleanup
  • Harden email security with SPF/DKIM/DMARC, mail flow rules, and quarantine policy
  • Build and tune RMM monitoring, alerting, and automation (PowerShell)
  • Lead client onboarding from prior MSPs, including discovery, documentation, and remediation
  • Handle network work as needed (UniFi, firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi)
  • Join client meetings to scope projects and explain technical recommendations in plain English
  • Recommend and help build process improvements across ticketing, onboarding/offboarding, and security reviews

Requirements

  • 5+ years in IT, with at least 2-3 in an MSP or multi-client environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune
  • A solid grasp of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and hybrid identity
  • Working PowerShell. You script repeatable work instead of clicking through it 20 times
  • A track record of writing clear documentation and SOPs that other techs actually use
  • The ability to run a project on your own: scoping, timeline, client communication, and cutover
  • A security-first mindset (MFA, Conditional Access, least privilege, backup verification)
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site client visits

Benefits & conditions

  • Real project ownership, not just closing tickets
  • Variety across industries and environments
  • Room to grow as the company grows

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, * 401(k)

  • 401(k) matching
  • Health insurance
  • Retirement plan
