Support Analyst - Windows, Linux, Scripting Networking

This is a unique hybrid role combining hands-on operational support with infrastructure architecture and tech projects. You won’t be siloed into one boring task; you will help maintain uptime for high-frequency trading desks, investigate security vulnerabilities, and work directly on automating workflows., Because trading never stops, the IT department covers shifts between 06:30 and 19:00, Monday to Friday. You will work a rotating shift pattern within these hours.

They are completely open on your background. You could be a Computer Science graduate with virtually no commercial experience, or an engineer with 1-3 years of professional experience under your belt.

Core Requirements

• Linux Exposure: A good fundamental understanding of Linux administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky, Mint, Debian - this does not need to be commercial experience-home labs, academic projects, or passionate tinkering count!).
• Scripting / Automation: Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar) to help automate repetitive tasks.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to methodically troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to support traders and internal teams in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points For (Nice-to-Haves):

• Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, or Cloud Infrastructure (specifically AWS).
• Experience or interest in DevOps practices (CI/CD, containers).
• Familiarity with low-code or AI-assisted automation tools (n8n, Zapier, Power Automate).

Other Non-Essential but Desirable Skills:

• Previous Financial / Banking - experience supporting Futures & Options Trading, Risk and Settlement Systems.
• Knowledge of any of the ISV’s products - Trading Technologies, Stellar, ULLink, WebICE, Object Trading, Fidessa, ION / Patsystems, Trayport.
• Exchange Connectivity - ICE / LIFFE, Eurex, CME / CBOT, Euronext, Xetra, Chi-X, LME, LSE, NYSE.
• FIX Connectivity - Client On-boarding, Support / Troubleshooting of FIX Logs / Connections.
• Other Market Data - Reuters, Bloomberg, CQG, Ateo (Teo and Lisa).
• Experience in Exchange and Vendor Management with a view to project managing exchange/system critical upgrades

Location: Central London (Initial 6-month office-based, moving to a hybrid 3 days office / 2 days remote split)

Salary:£30,000 - £60,000 (Depending on experience)
