Job description

We’re looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join our consulting team and work on real client projects from day one. You’ll support senior analysts and consultants in collecting, cleaning and analysing data, and turning findings into insights that clients can act on. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career analyst who wants to build a career in data consulting.

What you’ll do

  • Collect, clean and prepare data from a range of client sources
  • Analyse datasets to identify trends, patterns and opportunities
  • Build reports and dashboards using BI tools such as Power BI / Tableau
  • Write and run SQL queries to extract and transform data
  • Support the development of KPI frameworks and performance reporting
  • Check data for accuracy and flag quality issues
  • Present findings clearly to colleagues and clients, in writing and in conversation
  • Contribute ideas to project planning and client workshops
  • Document your work so it can be reviewed and reused

Requirements

  • A degree in a numerate or related subject (e.g. Maths, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Business Analytics), or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Some experience with a data visualisation tool (Power BI, Tableau or similar), from study, a project or a placement
  • A logical, detail-focused approach and comfort with numbers
  • Clear communication: you can explain a finding to someone who isn’t a data specialist
  • Curiosity, a willingness to learn and the confidence to ask questions

Nice to have

  • Python or R for data analysis
  • Internship, placement or project experience in analytics, consulting or a client-facing role
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google BigQuery)
  • A portfolio or personal projects we can look at

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary of £35,000 to £39,000, depending on experience
  • 28 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • A structured development plan with mentoring from senior consultants
  • Support towards certifications and training
  • Exposure to a variety of industries and real client problems
  • Pension, private healthcare, wellbeing allowance, or other benefits

Brighton Group is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are happy to make reasonable adjustments at any stage of the process. Please let us know what you need.

Pay: £35,000.00-£39,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Additional leave
  • Casual dress
  • Company pension
  • Discounted or free food
  • Free parking
  • Health & wellbeing programme
