- Implement authentication, authorization, RBAC, encryption, secrets management, and secure coding practices.
- Develop and support CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, automated testing, logging, monitoring, and observability.
- Troubleshoot complex defects and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
- Participate directly in sprint delivery, code reviews, testing, releases, and technical documentation.
- Support production releases and critical operational issues, including occasional evening or weekend support when required.
- Collaborate closely with Product, iOS, QA, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and enterprise integration teams to deliver working solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on backend software engineering and enterprise application development experience.
- Strong expertise in C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.
- Strong experience designing and developing cloud-native backend services and APIs.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Hands-on experience with serverless and container technologies, such as Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, Kubernetes/AKS, ECS/Fargate, GKE, or Cloud Run.
- Strong experience with event-driven and workflow technologies, such as Durable Functions, Step Functions, Temporal, Kafka, Event Hub, Pub/Sub, SNS, or SQS.
- Strong enterprise integration experience with REST, SOAP, API gateways, SFTP/PGP, message queues, polling, retry, idempotency, and deduplication.
- Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, RBAC/IAM, TLS, encryption, secrets management, and Secure SDLC practices.
- Strong data engineering experience with SQL Server/PostgreSQL, NoSQL platforms, data modeling, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, audit trails, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Government, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation, or equivalent DevOps tooling.
- Strong experience with automated testing, logging, monitoring, distributed tracing, and production diagnostics.
- Ability to independently execute complex backend development assignments and deliver high-quality production software.
Preferred Experience
- Microsoft technology stack: .NET/ASP.NET Core, C#, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure API Management.
- Mobile-to-backend integration, particularly iOS applications.
- Public-sector, public-safety, transportation, case-management, workflow-driven, or other mission-critical enterprise applications.
- CJIS or comparable security/compliance environments.
- Power BI or similar operational reporting and analytics platforms.
- Legacy system integration and modernization.
