Job description

Your new company

An established and highly regarded public sector consultancy delivering internal audit, counter fraud, risk management and governance services to a diverse portfolio of local government and public sector clients.

Your new role

As an Information Governance Officer, you’ll join a busy information governance team on an initial 8-week temporary assignment, playing a key role in supporting a significant backlog of Subject Access Requests (SARs).

Working remotely following collection of IT equipment from Liverpool, your primary focus will be managing SAR cases from receipt through to completion. This will involve reviewing sensitive information, identifying relevant documentation, and carrying out thorough redaction of personal and confidential data in line with GDPR, Data Protection legislation and organisational procedures.

This is a highly process-driven role requiring excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and previous experience handling Subject Access Requests or information governance work. You will be responsible for ensuring requests are processed accurately, compliantly and within required timescales.

This opportunity would suit someone with experience in information governance, data protection, FOI/SAR administration or records management who is comfortable working independently and managing a high volume of casework.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Previous experience processing Subject Access Requests (SARs) from receipt through to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR, Data Protection legislation and information governance principles.
  • Proven experience reviewing, identifying and redacting sensitive and confidential information accurately and in line with legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work through high volumes of documentation whilst maintaining accuracy.
  • Experience working within an Information Governance, Data Protection, Information Rights or Records Management environment.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work independently in a fully remote setting.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office applications and electronic document management systems.

What you’ll get in return

This is an 8 week temporary assignment offering an hourly rate of £14.75ph + hourly pay. You will need to be able to collect your laptop from the office in Liverpool, but then the role can be completed remotely anywhere in the UK.
