• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a strong focus on Scala development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with OpenShift and Apache Spark.
• In-depth understanding of data engineering principles and practices, including ETL/ELT, data transformation, and distributed computing frameworks.
• Experience developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time processing.
• Experience with containerisation, CI/CD practices, cloud-native application development, and version control systems such as Git.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including pair programming and daily stand-ups.
• Strong teamwork skills and experience sharing codebases and working with continuous integration practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We are recruiting for our client, a prestigious investment banking organisation, seeking a Scala Developer on a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Bromley, with three days per week on site, and offers a highly competitive umbrella day rate for suitable candidates.
