Developer and Analytics Engineer

• Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to ensure efficient data flow from various sources such as Hadoop, Spark, Azure Data Lake, and cloud databases.
• Design and implement scalable data models using dimensional modeling principles for data warehousing solutions that support business intelligence tools like Looker.
• Manage and enhance large-scale big data systems utilizing technologies such as Hadoop, Apache Hive, Spark, and related frameworks to process vast datasets effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate linked data sources and ensure consistency across multiple platforms including Oracle, SQL Server, and cloud-based SQL databases.
• Build and deploy analytics models by training machine learning algorithms and performing detailed analysis to uncover trends and insights.
• Develop RESTful APIs for seamless data access and integration with external applications or services.
• Use scripting languages like Python, Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, VBA, or Talend for automation of workflows and data management tasks within an Agile development environment.
• Support the design of data warehouses with best practices in data warehousing design, query management, and database schema development for optimal performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new big data systems or cloud solutions such as AWS or Azure Public Cloud offerings.

• Proven experience in software development with strong proficiency in Java and Python for building scalable applications and data processing workflows.
• Extensive hands-on experience working with SQL databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and cloud-based SQL solutions; solid understanding of SQL query optimization techniques.
• Demonstrated expertise in big data systems such as Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, Hive), Spark (PySpark), and related technologies for large-scale data processing.
• Practical knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure Data Lake for deploying secure and scalable data solutions in a public cloud environment.
• Strong background in data modeling-dimensional modeling for warehousing-and designing efficient ETL pipelines using tools like Informatica or Talend.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Looker for creating dashboards that translate complex datasets into clear visual insights.
• Experience with analysis skills including model training, query management, database design, and analytics-driven decision support.
• Ability to work effectively within Agile teams using methodologies that promote iterative development and continuous delivery of value.
