SAP Test Manager - SAP Transformation / Testing Governance

We are seeking an experienced SAP Test Manager to provide client-side testing governance and assurance for a large enterprise SAP transformation within a global life sciences organization.

This is a senior oversight and governance role responsible for evaluating and challenging the testing approach delivered by a third-party implementation partner.

This is not a hands-on tester or traditional Project Manager role. The ideal candidate has deep SAP testing experience and can independently assess test strategy, coverage, defects, risks, readiness, and overall quality across a complex SAP program.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to program leadership and senior business and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Own client-side SAP testing governance and assurance across the transformation program.
• Review and challenge testing strategies, plans, scope, execution approaches, and deliverables produced by the implementation partner.
• Provide oversight across SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect management, and release readiness.
• Evaluate test coverage across SAP business processes, modules, integrations, interfaces, and end-to-end workflows.
• Monitor testing progress, quality metrics, defect trends, risks, dependencies, and readiness.
• Ensure clear entry/exit criteria, quality gates, sign-offs, and testing accountability.
• Govern defect prioritization, escalation, resolution, and assessment of residual business risk.
• Hold systems integrators and delivery partners accountable for testing quality and commitments.
• Work closely with SAP functional teams, business users, Product Owners, Test Architects, IT leaders, and external partners.
• Present testing status, risks, issues, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Provide independent testing assurance and support go/no-go and release-readiness decisions.
• Ensure testing documentation and evidence meet organizational and regulatory requirements.

• 10+ years of SAP testing, test management, or testing governance experience.
• Significant experience supporting large-scale SAP implementations or transformation programs.
• Previous experience as an SAP Test Manager, SAP Test Lead, Testing Governance Lead, or similar role.
• Strong practical understanding of SAP business processes, integrations, interfaces, and end-to-end testing.

• Regression testing

• Release readiness
• Proven experience overseeing testing performed by systems integrators, implementation partners, or outsourced testing teams.
• Ability to critically review and challenge test strategies, coverage, execution results, and vendor recommendations.
• Strong understanding of testing metrics, risk assessment, quality gates, and test evidence.
• Experience working with SAP test management and defect-tracking tools.
• Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and delivery teams without direct authority.
• Ability to operate independently in a highly visible, client-facing role., * Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
• Experience working within a Testing Center of Excellence (COE) or enterprise testing governance organization.
• Familiarity with GxP, Computer System Validation (CSV), or validated systems.
• Experience supporting complex global SAP transformation programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will have personally led testing governance for major SAP transformation programs and will be comfortable challenging a systems integrator on test strategy, coverage, defects, quality, and readiness.

We are not looking for someone whose experience is primarily hands-on test execution. This position requires a senior SAP testing leader capable of providing independent oversight, governance, and executive-level recommendations., Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible to work under a Corp-to-Corp or 1099 engagement., * Have you personally served as an SAP Test Manager, SAP Test Lead, or Testing Governance Lead on a large SAP implementation or transformation program?
