Technical Operations Specialist

Employee in this job participates in a variety of laboratory activities to support the Process Solutions Commercial business in the Burlington M Lab Customer Collaboration Center. Work is performed using standard laboratory best practices following established procedures, policies, and applicable regulations. Employee will work under direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager. Ability to conduct diverse tasks in a fast paced laboratory environment applying keen observational skills and clear communication is required.of the services you require.

Maintain and operate process and pilot scale laboratory equipment and scientific instruments, including, but not limited to filtration holders, housings and skids, pumps, flow meters, pressure gauges, pH meters, spectrophotometers, viscometer, chromatography apparatuses, analytical balances, autoclaves, centrifuge and air compression testing equipment.

• Oversight of the Preventative maintenance and calibration program including record keeping (Maintain, clean, store and track laboratory equipment)
• Diagnose, adjust and provide basic repair to equipment
• Understand and maintain proper safety standards in the laboratory
• Use and maintenance of mechanical tools
• Operation of forklift pallet jack
• Equipment set up for experiments and shipment ( Fulfill off-site lab requests)
• Place orders and track delivery of material, chemicals, and equipment according to department and Project schedules
• Assist with experimental set up working under the direction of an engineer or scientist

Associate’s degree in biology or life sciences

• 2+ years of experience working in a biological or engineering laboratory

• Proficient experience in standard computer applications including Microsoft Suite

• Strong customer service skills, strong proactive and independent work ethic

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working in a biological or engineering laboratory

• Batchelor’s degree in biology, life sciences or engineering

• Strong record of independent work achievement, * Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

• Electric pallet jack: 2 years (Preferred)

Language:

• English (Preferred)
